If you're looking for a terrifying place to sleep on Halloween, Airbnb is hosting a contest in which the winner and a guest will be able to spend the night in the Catacombs of Paris.
Airbnb is traditionally a company that helps travelers list, find and rent lodging, but they have listed this one-off experience in the Paris Catacombs as a way to celebrate Halloween. For those who enjoy truly scary experiences, this could be an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Contestants are entering for the chance to spend one night in the catacombs beneath the city of Paris which holds the remains of roughly six million people. Guests will be given an actual bed and several hotel amenities, but the exclusive tours and a bedside storyteller coming to the room will make this a haunting experience.
Add in a dinner served underground and a private concert performed in the catacombs, and there is nothing quite like the opportunity Airbnb is presenting. Interested guests simply have to send the reason why they should have the honor to the host by Oct. 20 and wait for the winner to be announced.
The official Twitter account of Experience Paris and Bleaq shared some terrifying images of the Airbnb room inside the catacombs:
There are some house rules, though. Guests are asked to respect the catacombs as if it were their own grave, be courteous to the living and dead neighbors and bobbing for apples in the catacomb pools is strictly prohibited.
