El Salvador has a large variety of beautiful volcanoes, and a tour of these giants is an unforgettable experience next to the attractive vegetation, wild animals and the practice of extreme sports.
The route through the volcanoes’ area is a great activity for lovers of long, open-air rides and fresh air. There are several viewpoints along the way, the Pacific vista being the most famous. From there, you can admire the Santa Ana Volcano known as Ilamatepec, which is the country’s highest volcano; Coatepeque Lake; and the Izalco Volcano, known also as “The Lighthouse of the Pacific.”
Cerro Verde Park
The spectacular Coatepeque Lake can be found in this park, one of the most famous and recognized places in El Salvador.
The park offers a panoramic view of most of El Salvador’s volcanoes — especially Izaclo and Ilamatepec. It is an impressive place full of nature, and tours are available.
