More than 230 Greater Miami area restaurants will be participating in the 16th Annual Miami Spice event.

The dining experience, hosted by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, will take place through September 30th. Pris fixe deals are $23 for brunch and lunch and $39 for a three-course dinner.

This year's event marks the first time brunch menus will be added.

"Brunch in Miami has gained a lot of momentum over the last few years. It is no longer something people conveniently enjoy but an experience they actively seek out," David Foulquier, owner of downtown Miami's Fooq's restaurant, told Miami.com. "At Fooq's, brunch has become one of our best services, and something clients come back for time and time again."

For brunch, Fooq's offers a Persian salad, bucatini carbonara pasta and baked French toast.

Though navigating participating restaurants may seem overwhelming, a number of local publications have offered up their suggestions.

Byblos is a popular suggestion, recommended by Miami.com and Miami Eater. The Mediterranean restaurant is offering a bi-weekly menu rotation, allowing guests to choose two items from the mezzo selections, a main course, side and dessert.

Scarpetta, located inside the Fontainebleau, is one of Miami's most popular date-night restaurants, and many of its signature dishes are on the Miami Spice Menu, including Scarpetta's famous spaghetti pomodoro.

While Miami Spice is popular for date night; families can find a variety of restaurants to choose from as well.

Take the clan to Lolo's Surf Cantina and enjoy tuna tostadas, torta ahogada, chips and salsa, then finish with warm chocolate cake.

There's also Sugar Factory. Its Miami Spice menu includes mac n' cheese cake pops-basically fried macaroni and cheese on a stick. It will be hard to keep kids away from that one.

It's always a good idea to ask the locals where to go. Miami Herald spoke to Miami foodies to find out where they were looking forward to dining during the event.

Eileen Andrade, chef/owner at Finka Table & Tap, told the Herald that she is headed to La Mar, Sarsaparilla Club and Naiyara.

"La Mar is one of my favorite restaurants. Chef Diego Oka knows how to really highlight and elevate authentic Peruvian flavors in his dishes," said Andrade.

Andrew Gonzalez, founder of Night Owl Cookies, is headed to Chef Adrianne's Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar, Komodo and Bird & Bone.

Cookbook author and television personality Ana Quincoces is trying out Ortanique on the Mile, Zuma and Kyu.

Miami Spice menus are available to browse through online. Reservations are recommended. Spice menus are available every night of the week that the restaurant is open.
