Find Democratic National Convention's Donkeys Around Philadelphia
For travelers heading to Philadelphia for the 2016 Democratic National Convention, keep an eye out for 57 custom-designed fiberglass donkeys all over the city, dubbed the “Donkeys Around Town” program.
As part of the “Donkeys Around Town” program, the 57 fiberglass donkeys have been custom painted by local artists to represent each participating Convention delegation. The donkeys have been placed around Philadelphia, and will be on display through Sept. 9.
The 57 donkeys will represent the 50 states, five United States territories, Washington, D.C. and the democrats abroad. They will be adorned with hand-painted iconic images and the name of the area it represents.
In order to get visitors and locals excited for the new donkey program, the Democratic National Convention Host Committee has launched a scavenger hunt to find all of the donkeys through app Scavify. The seek-and-find event will take place July 21 through July 29.
For the travelers who join the scavenger hunt for the 57 donkeys around Philadelphia, there will be prizes awarded.
