While you are wandering around the city, take advantage of the opportunity to get a close-up look at some of the stunning local architecture. The town is said to have some of the most perfect examples of Baroque architecture around, and you can see many example of the buildings that played a vital role in the city's history as a silver mine operation.
Get some culture
This is the perfect place to learn about art and history, as it is all around you in Guanajuato. You can get both in one place when you visit the Alhóndiga de Granaditas, a former grain storage building that now serves as a museum for art and history. There are also several renowned theaters scattered throughout town.

No matter what type of cuisine your taste buds crave, you should be able to find something to cure your hunger pains without going too far. There are many street vendors offering homemade treats-check out some of the local street fair tours for help finding them-or you can get a variety of flavor-packed foods at one of the many local markets. Be sure to grab the chance to enjoy a cup of authentic Mexican coffee!
Hop on the Funicular
One of the best ways to truly appreciate the spectacular view of the city is by viewing it from the unique vantage point of the Funicular. This inclined railway provides you with a way to climb the sides of the mountains, offering you an incredible spot from which to enjoy the vast landscape all around you.
