The non-profit Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History (MLFH) in Boynton Beach, Fla., premiered in October 2011 its newest program -- the Culinary Tours of Florida, known as Taste History Culinary Tours. The program offers the first food tour of its style in Palm Beach County, Fla.
Taste History specifically visits restaurants, eateries and markets in historic districts and/or buildings and travels to urban farms in Boynton Beach and Delray Beach, Fla., and will soon launch tours of historic Lake Worth, Fla. Macy's, which is celebrated for its culinary programs including the Macy's Culinary Council, is sponsoring the Taste History Culinary Tours of Historic Delray Beach, Boynton Beach in Palm Beach County.
Taste History is a four-hour narrated gastronomy excursion of bus riding and four to six blocks of walking through historic districts for alternate visits to 13 eateries, markets and urban farms for food history, food culture facts, foodways information and food tastings. Cuisines experienced include soul food, Caribbean, Brazilian, Turkish, ancient Italian, American, seafood, organic tea, farm-to-table, and fruits and vegetables from farms. This culinary tour also travels to The Home Store at Macy's Boynton Beach for experiences that comprise food demos followed by tastings.
Due to the exceeding popularity of the Taste History Culinary Tours, the first six months are sold out. To meet the demand for the culinary tours, more dates have been added with the tours being expanded to consist of food sampling at a bed and breakfast, the Farmer's Market and restaurants in historic Lake Worth, Florida in Palm Beach County. The Lake Worth tour will premiere on April 14, 2012.
