Iceland continues to make headlines, especially because the country was just named the top adventure travel destination in the luxury market by Virtuoso.

For travelers who have succumbed to the (well-deserved) hype and are headed to Iceland, GrindTV has some suggestions for the best tourist attractions worth your money.

Whale watching with Gentle Giants tops the list.

“With Gentle Giants, you have the option to hop on an RIB Speed Boat that can follow along closely as the whales swim within feet of the boat and has the ability to speed over to a whale spotting hundreds of feet away,” wrote Mattie Schuler for GrindTV.

Schuler also suggests glacier hiking with Extreme Iceland.

“With Extreme Iceland’s Ultimate Icescape Glacier Hike, you’ll be equipped with crampons, helmets and ice picks to explore the Svínafellsjokull glacial tongue in the Skaftafell Nature Reserve,” she said.

Another good activity: a zodiac ride with Glacier Lagoon Tour.

“With Zodiac Boat Tours, you are able to get quite close to the glacier and the icebergs (pending that they aren’t breaking off in the moment) in a small speed boat that can cruise quickly throughout the entire seven-square-mile lagoon,” Schuler pointed out.
