Get to Know North Korea From a Traveler’s Perspective

Travel blogger Jacob Laukaitis documented his travels to North Korea via YouTube to give potential visitors an idea of exactly what it is like to visit the isolated nation.

In an article on DailyMail, writer Qin Xie detailed the extensive coverage of his trip, from start to finish. Laukaitis noted that he was at the hands of a minder the entire time and was careful not to break the rules while he was there.

“He says he had little opportunity to interact with locals and in turn, the locals seemed to have little interest or were too afraid to interact with the foreign visitors,” Xie writes.

While Laukaitis’ every move was monitored, what he did see was fascinating. He took part in a Pyongyang marathon, visited schools, strolled through parks and even visited a theme park where they were allowed to ride a ride.
