Get to Know the Greek Islands

Greece has more than 6,000 islands and each one has its own personality. Some are romantic, some are adventurous and some offer some of the world’s most stunning beaches — black sand, anyone? So choosing is a hard job. How do you know which one is right for you? Conde Nast via HuffPost has put together a guide for travelers looking to find the right Greek Island for a vacation.

One example: Hydra. It’s the perfect stop for digital detoxers and solo travelers, offering cobblestone streets, stone mansions and fashionable harbored cafes.

There are no cars on the island — or scooters — in fact, the streets are traversed on foot or by mules and donkeys.

Beach hoppers will find solace on the island of Kefalonia. Its famous Myrtos Beach is tucked away between two mountains and was also the filming location of “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.”
