Green Bay: 8 Things Every Cheesehead Must See

It’s obvious that not every Green Bay Packers fan resides in Titletown, USA, but every week during football season, fans from around the country trek to America’s Dairyland to see a game. If you’re one of those die-hard cheeseheads who are traveling to Wisconsin for any one of the Packers’ home games, here are 8 things you must see and do while you’re visiting:
1. Lambeau Field – Some fans skip the guided tour of this magnificent stadium because they figure they are going to Lambeau for the game anyway, but don’t miss it. Lambeau has been the home field of the 13-time Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers for 59 years, replacing City Stadium at East High School (which still exists and has a plaque that honors the franchise). Get your tickets early because they do sell out. On the tour, you will enter private suites, walk (or run if you wish) through the player’s tunnel, and stand on the sidelines. You will also go to the top of the stadium and yell a resounding “Go Pack Go,” to hear it echo back at you.
2. Biggest Trophy Ever: Enter the stadium from the front and you won’t miss the whopping 50-foot chrome Vince Lombardi trophy replica. It weighs 14.5 tons and is two stories tall.
3. Hall of Fame: Also located inside Lambeau Field is 15,000 square feet of Green Bay Packers history. Listen to Brett Favre’s speech and watch game clips. Take photos next to the actual Lombardi trophies and see the uniforms that players actually wore during certain games.

4. Eat and Drink: Want to hang out with other Packers fans? Stop at the some of the popular venues, such as Titletown Brewing Company, Brett Favre’s Steakhouse, or 1919 Kitchen and Tap, for some good food and drinks, and soak up some pre-game excitement. Don’t forget to try deep fried cheese curds, a Wisconsin favorite.
5.Lambeau Leap! No, you can’t do the real Lambeau leap, but there is a mock wall outside of the stadium where you can pretend that you scored the winning touchdown!
6.Heritage Trail Tour: If you can’t get enough of the Packers — and what fan can — check out the Heritage Trail Tour, a self-guided walk with exhibits, plaques and statues that share the team story and how the residents of Green Bay came together to save a team from going completely bankrupt.
7.Shop Till You Drop: Save some room in your suitcase because at the Packers Pro Shop, located inside Lambeau Field, you’ll find everything under the sun that has a Packers logo – and I mean everything. You didn’t even know that you needed those Green Bay Packers spices, did you?
8.Tailgate: It’s game time! Get to the stadium early enough to throw around a football, chat it up and make once-in-a-lifetime memories. There’s nothing like tailgating with thousands of Packers fans.
There’s so much that goes on during the game, but out-of-state Packers fans should make the most of the trip and visit the town before opening kickoff. Then, it’s time to scream!
