One of the unique things to do when visiting Hollywood is to take a tour through some of the areas most famous neighborhoods, but a recent investigation has unveiled that some star tours aren't so star-studded. Stuff is reporting that tourists have been duped by Hollywood tours and residents are paying the price when their homes are falsely identified as celebrity residences.
"An investigation by an LA TV station, which took 20 separate tours, has found Hollywood home tour operators are charging up to $US50 ($70) a person but are pointing out homes not owned by celebrities," writes Peter Mitchell.
Homeowners are not fans of the tours, especially when their property is misidentified as a celebrity's.
Michael Edson said that he was recently woken in the middle of the night to discover a single red rose on a table in his home, which is often identified as that of Julia Roberts. He was then punched in the face when he found the masked intruder painting a message on his wall, reports Stuff.
Edson has also received "creepy" love letters from Roberts' fans.
