There are many more weeks available for a spring break this year since the Easter holiday falls in mid-April — the 16th to be exact. That means, there’s a lot more time to book and, if you have waited until the last minute, there are still many places where you can find not only vacancies but savings as well, says The New York Times.
One good place for the last-minute traveler is San Juan, Puerto Rico.
“Even though it is peak season, it’s not hard to find reasonable hotel rates, with choices ranging from all-inclusive mega-resorts to stylish boutique hotels,” writes Michelle Higgins.
Austin, Texas, is another good place for spring break. And a post-South by Southwest visit is when all the deals flow in.
“The time to visit is when they all go home. Hotel rates drop precipitously, while the average daytime temperatures remain in the 60s and 70s,” notes Higgins.

Palm Springs is one of California’s hottest destinations and, for spring break, as long as you avoid traveling during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, April 14-23, you are in good shape.
“While spring is a prime time to visit this desert town, with daytime temperatures in the mid-80s and a retro pool party scene, hotels and rentals are plentiful,” says Higgins.
