Labor Day Weekend Travel Costs Rising, Travelocity Says
The cost of traveling domestically over Labor Day weekend this year has risen, compared with last year, according to Travelocity. Based on its booking data, the cost of a roundtrip, domestic airline ticket has risen 1 percent, to $355, while the average daily rate (ADR) of a domestic hotel room has jumped 12 percent year-over-year, to 171.
In addition, the company identified the 10 most popular domestic destinations for Labor Day weekend. They are (in order) New York City, Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Orlando, San Francisco, South Florida, Boston and Las Vegas.
Travelocity is offering Labor Day weekend packages, featuring savings of up to 50 percent, for bookings by Sept. 1 and travel from Aug. 29 through Sept. 3.
