There's endless fun to be had in the Entertainment Capital of the World, but a byproduct of boasting such a considerable title is that some travelers are inevitably going to leave disappointed.

Las Vegas, owner of said slogan, is the most overrated city in the world, according to a Yahoo Travel survey.

Nearly one-third (28 percent) of the 2,000 respondents are in agreement that Sin City isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

But East Coast entertainment hubs like New York (18 percent) and Miami (14 percent) were also atop the list, with each receiving a good portion of the vote. The Big Apple's standing isn't all that surprising, though, especially considering another Yahoo Travel survey last month deemed it the world's unfriendliest city, with 31 percent of respondents in agreement.

Whether it's any consolation for New Yorkers, the city has a bigger reputation for being unfriendly than overrated.

On the other hand, Miami's presence on the list is somewhat surprising considering it boasts some of the world's most beautiful beaches, and immense cultural diversity.

When it comes to metropolises outside of the U.S., respondents found Paris to be the most overrated city, with 11 percent singling out the French capital as a recipient of undeserved hype.

Dubai (seven percent) rounds out the top five most overrated cities on the planet, while Honolulu (six percent), London (three percent), Bora Bora (two percent), Rome (two percent), and Sydney (two percent) comprise the rest of the top 10.

Meanwhile, the remaining five percent of respondents cited a catch-all of other cities as being the most overrated.
