London's Best View Now Comes With Gorgeous Garden Setting

As if owning the best vantage point in all of London atop Western Europe's tallest building wasn’t enough, The View from The Shard now boasts a fancy garden.

The LA Times’ Jay Jones reports on a new installation high atop the London skyline, one that offers a serene setting for otherwise breathtaking views.

Jones breaks down what visitors might enjoy when plunking down serious coin to see the garden: “The garden, which opened Thursday, consists of more than 2,000 plants and trees growing in about 2,600 gallons of soil. The colorful display includes daisies, geraniums, lavender, lupines, marigolds, phlox and poppies.”

The View from The Shard’s various social media outlets were happy to celebrate the new opening as well:

For those who haven’t yet enjoyed the view from 72 floors above the city, there are plenty of videos to pique your interest:

You can get more information on visiting the popular attraction at the official website, which details some rather expensive tickets.

We all know everything is a bit pricier in London, so you won’t be surprised to hear that entry will run you $39 for adults and $29.50 for children, per Jones.

The garden attraction will remain through the summer and into September, which may just encourage you to enjoy the highest tea in all of the land.

The website promises views on a clear day of 40 miles, which we have to believe makes the scones taste a bit sweeter.

And if you are afraid of heights, the sight of flowers and the enjoyment of tea certainly have a beautifully calming effect.
