The 2.5-hour walking tour, which officially debuts on Oct. 1, will spotlight the most acclaimed restaurants in Downtown Las Vegas. Each tour will stop at up to five establishments covering the scope of downtown’s dining scene, complete with buzzworthy signature dishes from award-winning chefs. A personal guide with insider knowledge will lead the tour, talking about the area's history, offering local tips and highlighting prime photo opportunities along the way.
What’s more, tour goers won’t have to worry about securing reservations or waiting in line, with expedited seating and service upon arriving at each restaurant (as longtime Vegas tourists know, some restaurants in the city have long waiting lists).
The establishments highlighted in the tour include: Carson Kitchen (featuring American cuisine and founded by the late great Kerry Simon), Glutton (enjoy craft cocktails courtesy of chef/owner Bradley Manchester), Itsy Bitsy (Japanese street food courtesy of Executive Chef Ricardo Romo), Container Park (where shipping containers have been converted into boutiques, restaurants and a live music venue), and Banger Brewing (which sports craft brews such as a jalapeno hefeweizen).
It’s no surprise that Lip Smacking Foodie Tours expanded to the downtown area. City officials such as Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and privately funded initiatives such as the Downtown Project have been working to revitalize the neighborhood. During her campaign for re-election this year, Goodman made the revitalization of Downtown Las Vegas a primary talking point. Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh is putting $350 million worth of investments into the Downtown Project.
