New Orleans Focusing on Family Reunions

The New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau (NOCVB) would like your next family reunion to be Big Easy-style and has launched a free online resource as an enticement for party planners picking a celebration city.
The goal of the website is to offer tools like electronic save-the-dates, invitations, customizable microsites and postcard reminders that will make it more appealing for families to choose New Orleans as the host of their reunions.
Not only will the tools be more interactive — making it easier for the entire family — but the website will also deliver fast and simple communication between family members for reunion announcements and itinerary updates.
NOCVB sales manager Thu Tran released a statement about the city’s focus on families:
“Families continue to choose New Orleans for its authenticity. Nowhere else can all age groups find ample activities of interest, and there are many experiences that will entertain across generational lines. From Mardi Gras World to great live music venues and Creole cooking classes, there is no shortage of things for families to experience in New Orleans.”
The NOCVB is doing its best to appeal to both the younger and older members of the family. Whether they use the tech-heavy features of the site or traditional postcards to get invitations out, each member of the family can be involved in the planning process and stay connected with updates and news.
The Bureau hasn’t stopped there, though, as it is also offering advice on free New Orleans activities, transportation information, family attractions and kid-friendly tourist spots. In addition, the Visitors Bureau can also help customers book hotels, event space and provide crucial personal assistance.
