In a recent Choice Hotels survey, premium guests were headed to Perth, naming the Western Australia destination a ‘must visit’ in 2017, report Yahoo News in Australia.
“The survey of about 400 Choice “privilege members” found 21 per cent would visit Perth ahead of any other Australian capital city,” Yahoo reports.
Sydney and Melbourne were second and third on the list, respectively and Hobart was number four.
“With overnight visitor numbers growing and a number of key infrastructure projects on the horizon that will benefit tourists the popularity of Perth is only going to increase,” Choice Hotels Asia-Pacific chief executive Trent Fraser told Yahoo.
There are currently six Choice Hotels properties in the area and there are two more on the way.
Recently, Western Australia has seen a flurry of development, both public and private.
“All of this investment has created huge changes in Perth,” Gwyn Dolphin, Tourism Western Australia chief executive, tells Yahoo. “Coupled with our fabulous climate and outdoor lifestyle, it is making us the must-visit Australian city for 2017 and beyond.”
