Adventure operator Explora has announced that it will open a new lodge in Peru’s Sacred Valley this summer. While Explora provides high-end lodging in some of the world’s most off-the-beaten-path locations, its real claim to fame is all of the included adventure that comes with your stay. Staying at Explora is an experience in the truest sense of the word and, now, that experience is coming to Peru.
One of the ways that Explora lodges stand out from the crowd is that its principal aim is to “encourage a new attitude toward travel.” The company does this by helping its guests discover remote surroundings in authentic ways – from guestrooms to its in-depth exploration of the surroundings.
Up until now, the company has primarily operated out of Chile, with properties in Patagonia, Atacama and Easter Island – all three are arguably in some of Chile’s most remote destinations. Each region offers a unique landscape, authentic local cultural experiences and endless opportunities for exploration, which is Explora’s primary focus. And one of the best features of each lodge is that they are all-inclusive. Each stay includes pick up and drop off to and from the airport, accommodations, all meals and bar, all explorations (including hikes, panoramic exploration, bike rides, horseback riding and excursions at sea), Wi-Fi access in public areas, national park entrance fees and more.
Now, Explora will be opening its first property in Peru. Explora Valle Sagrado is the Sacred Valley’s newest adventure lodge, located at 9,500 feet in the Andean Highlands just over an hour from the ancient Inca capital of Cusco. The property will provide accommodations perfect for adventure travelers in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, offering guests a variety of challenging activities – and more of them – than any other lodge in the region. The property is scheduled to debut on July 1, 2016.
The lodge is located on a terraced Inca corn plantation on one of the most secluded haciendas in the Sacred Valley, with 50 guestrooms. Guests will be able to look out of their windows and see beautiful cornfields and take in the mountain views.
Of course, Explora is dedicated to providing a singular experience in its off-the-beaten-path locales and each exploration at in the Sacred Valley will be a journey in itself. The lodge will keep travelers active and engrossed in the natural wonders, rich culture and history around them, with more than 20 different excursions on foot, bicycle or van, led by the company’s specially trained exploration team.
There will be three exploration programs available, including Pisac (three nights) starting at $2,160, double occupancy; Vilcabamba (four nights) starting at $2,628, double occupancy; and Moray (five nights) starting at $3,020. These rates are valid from July 1 to April 30, 2017, and include a 10 percent service.
Explora is featuring a special opening offer of two travelers for the price of one for those who would like to be among the first travelers to experience the property in Peru. Rates start at $2,160 for a three-night stay based on double occupancy. The rate is all inclusive of guided excursions, meals and an open bar as well as transfers from and to Cusco. The offer is available to all bookings that are made before Feb. 29 for stays through Dec. 31, 2017.
