A recent report suggests a major leisure company based in the United States has submitted an application to build the world's second-largest theme park in Cuba.
According to The Independent, the unnamed American company plans to build the amusement park on the north coast of Cuba, around an hour from popular tourist destination, Varadero. The facilities will reportedly include a waterpark, a zoo, six hotels, retail outlets, restaurants and several themed zones.

In addition, plans for the park have been leaked. Some of the most newsworthy attractions include a major roller coaster, parades, live shows, an ice-maiden themed hotel and firework displays. Another enticing attraction would be the Hemingway's Hideaway adults-only bar, which would specialize in serving daiquiris.
The plans to build the enormous amusement park are still pending approval, but the American company expects to begin construction as soon as 2018, with an estimated completion date in April 2021.

For children and families in Cuba, the island nation only has only one operational theme park, World of Fantasy in Santiago de Cuba. Unfortunately, the facility was damaged during Hurricane Sandy and features lackluster attractions.
