In an effort to educate and entertain, SeaWorld has announced the release of five new interactive mobile apps for children.
Available for free in the App Store on iPhone or iPad, the SeaWorld Kids mobile apps are designed to teach preschool and elementary-aged kids about various wildlife around the world.
"Kids will love traveling from the North Pole to the South Pole and so many places between with our new digital apps," said Scott Helmstedter, chief creative officer for SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in a statement.
"SeaWorld Kids apps help teach children about the natural world in a fun and interactive way that also allows parents to play along," Helmstedter added.
The apps include "Baby Animals: Cute and Cuddly Animal Babies by SeaWorld Kids;" "Penguin's Playground;" "Polar Bear Playground;" "SeaWorld Kids Network" and "Tigers, Lions, Cheetahs and Other Big Cats."
The SeaWorld Kids Network, which will be updated regularly with new content, will use videos and games to teach children about endangered animals. The other apps are self-explanatory, and will feature entertaining games, videos, puzzles and activities to educate users on the respective species.
In a press release, SeaWorld points out that, in addition to educating children and families about wildlife and nature, the goal of the apps is to inspire people to assist in preservation.
