For spa enthusiasts who may grow jaded by cookie-cutter treatments that fail to reflect a destination’s unique character, Grand Miramar All Luxury Suites & Residences takes a 180-degree approach by delivering a taste of Mexico’s essence.
The Puerto Vallarta resort’s Spa Miramar has merged sophistication and rejuvenation by designing a menu of enlightening therapies that immerse guests into Mexican culture. Within 2,800 square feet of bliss, the Agave Spa Experience indulges with treatments utilizing its exclusive Agave Spa Skincare line created from natural and sustainable botanicals and ingredients native to Mexico.
“Spa Miramar's Agave Spa Experience provides guests with an opportunity to have a deeper understanding of Mexican culture through our unique treatments combining indigenous Mexican ingredients and ancient Mayan rituals,” Iberia Silva Carreon, Spa Miramar’s manager.
Silva Carreon added, “Mayan rituals and massage techniques are incorporated into the signature treatments, exposing guests to ancient practices used to promote tranquility, balance, and harmony inside and out.”
The primary ingredient in products utilized for Spa Miramar’s facials, massages and body scrubs is the Mexican icon of blue agave. “Best known in making tequila, the indigenous blue agave contains powerful, natural antiseptics that allow for deep moisturizing through high contents of amino sugars that boost cell renewal, along with anti-inflammatory and anti-scarring effects.”
Silva Carreon noted that among the spa menu’s favorites is the Teometl. “This is a very popular requested treatment. Given the strong sun in Mexico, many guests may need an added boost of moisturizer to their skin after prolonged sun exposure.” The 50-minute ritual relies on agave’s benefits to sooth, protect and restore skin exposed to UVB and UVA rays, toxins, pollution and other free radicals.
Silva Carreon also lauds the Ix Chel, an 80-minute anti-aging facial where therapists unblock energy circuits surrounding the eyes with a Mayan Tzolkin massage and collagen veil. Obsidian facial stones are used for micro-massaging pearl and agave serum and lotion. After tapping into radiofrequency, pearls are placed on pressure points to allow an energy flow that softens aging signs while brightening the skin.
According to Silva Carreon, Grand Miramar is planning to create specific spa packages that will incorporate accommodations, choice of Spa Miramar treatments, and access to the facility’s sauna, steam baths and state-of-the-art fitness center.
