Cleveland is having itself a beautiful moment right now.

Travel website Hipmunk unveiled findings surrounding the Democratic and Republican conventions. Perhaps you’ve heard of them.

It seems like some of you have, because the area is about to get swarmed with tourists, pundits and locals just out to see what the fuss is all about.

The website discovered how things will turn out for the travel industry during the period of July 17-21 and July 24-28 in Cleveland and Philadelphia respectively.

Those are the times and places that the Republicans and Democrats will be in town to settle their nomination business.

And as far as business goes, it will be booming.

Here’s a graphic from Hipmunk that illustrates the percentage increase for searches in those areas:

As noted, Democrats will head to the city of brotherly love for the DNC while Republicans will welcome an influx into the city that just celebrated a championship by its very own Cavaliers.

And the hits keep coming for Cleveland. According to the study, hotels will see a 148 percent bump in prices.

At the same time this year, prices for hotels in the city were around $180. Now they will hover at $450 for the same period.

Well, that’s not exactly great for you visitors, but the local economy thanks you kindly.

As for Philadelphia, the same situation is playing out with hotel prices rising from $165 to $186.

It’s a modest bump, but 13 percent still illustrates the immense demand taking place during a few days this summer.

So as you would expect, tremendous conventions mean even bigger business for the travel industry in the area.

Apologies to your wallets.
