Tauck travelers love its revamped England, Scotland & Wales tour – the company updated this longstanding vacation package to include a new experiential visit to the recently opened Bodnant Food Centre and a stay at The Quay Hotel & Spa in Wales. These additions have made Wales an increasingly popular destination for Tauck customers and the company has confirmed them for their 2016 tour schedule. Feedback from the 2014 tour season confirmed that Tauck’s experiential additions to the Britain program are a success: “During the Welsh visit Tauck takes you to Bodnant Gardens Food Centre where we got to try some great wines and see how they would pair with our dinner that evening…” said one Tauck traveler. “The dinner was outstanding and a real highlight of this tour.”

When Tauck heard about Bodnant Food Centre it was quick to take advantage of this unique culinary offering in Wales. Art Cox, European Product Manager at Tauck says of the updated Wales program, “Our guests are thrilled with the additions to this tour.” He added, “They love that they now get a more in-depth look at the culture of Wales, specifically the country’s cuisine.”

Officially opened by His Royal Highness Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in July 2012, Bodnant Food Centre has become a focal point of the culinary movement in Wales. This former 18th-century farming estate turned gastronomic haven features a farm shop, a tea room, a restaurant, a cookery school, and a wine shop. Foodies on Tauck’s England, Scotland & Wales tour have the opportunity to watch a cooking demonstration by one of the center’s resident chefs and a local celebrity, Dai Chef. Bodnant Food Centre prides itself on showcasing the best in Welsh food; nearly 75 percent of products sold in the farm shop are from Wales and the centre produces its own cheese, ice cream and butter on site.

The Wales portion of this tour also includes a stay at The Quay Hotel & Spa. This 4-star, seaside resort in North Wales overlooks the Conwy Estuary with views out to the imposing 13th-century fortress, Conwy Castle.
