The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel received the gold honor for generating 3,774,600 impressions from the “interrupted” radio spots that ran in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and

Columbus. The commercials were developed as an extension of the “Find Your Island” campaign, which spoke to mothers who are in need of a vacation with their family to unwind. As

a result, Lee County visitation from March to August 2014 increased by 6 percent, with a 16.4 percent increase in bed tax revenue. The other award winners included a tantalizing public relations effort, a trendsetting magazine insert, and an innovative art promotional campaign.

“I am very proud of the number of Adrian Awards the VCB has earned over the years,” said Tamara Pigott, VCB executive director. “Receiving awards in this competitive arena acknowledges our team’s tremendous success and underscores the impressive results we deliver for our destination.”
