It’s fall, and that means travel deals. Looking for a last-minute October getaway? Conde Nast Traveler has rounded up the best destinations to travel to this month.
Why not head to the Big Easy?
“Where better to spend Halloween than in the city considered America’s most-haunted? It’s even more appealing when you realize that October is the month when New Orleans, prone to damp spells even in high summer, is at its driest,” Conde Nast points out.
Italy is another good bet in October.
Though it’s no longer beach weather, Tuscany is still a worthwhile destination in the fall, as it is harvest season in this bucolic corner of Italy: grapes for wine and olives for oil, as well as chestnuts from the woods (try a few marrons glacés scattered over some vanilla gelato),” says Conde Nast.
Head to the Bay Area for a fall treat.

“Even diehard San Franciscans would admit the weather there is its Achilles heel, often cycling through all four seasons in a single day. September and October are exceptions, though, when the weather usually remains reliably warm and dry—the ultimate Bay Area Indian summer,” Conde Nast suggests.
