On Tuesday, the Al Ahli Holding Group (AAHG) and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products announced plans to build a Fox-branded theme park and resort in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
When completed, this will be the second 20th Century Fox World theme park and the first Fox-branded resort, and the deal between companies also allows for a roll-out of up to three additional Fox-branded resorts in territories outside Dubai.
Dubbed 20th Century Fox World Dubai, the entertainment complex will feature attractions, rides and retail outlets themed after the studio's iconic film and television franchises. Some of the highlights include media-based dark rides, a Fox-themed retail street, the the world's first Fox-themed resort hotel and more.
The crown jewel of the attraction will be the theme park. The facility will have themed lands throughout and marquee attractions based on Fox properties like "Ice Age," "Rio," "Planet of the Apes," "Aliens," "Predator," "Night at the Museum," "Titanic," "The Simpsons" and "Sons of Anarchy."
As for when 20th Century Fox World Dubai is expected to be open to the public, officials are planning for 2018. The official Twitter account of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing shared an artist's rendering of the proposed park:
