Never play with your food...unless you plan to throw it with conviction.
YouTube channel Insider has a wonderful little video that should entice tomato and food fight aficionados alike.
It features a cavalcade of moments from Spain's La Tomatina festival that kicks off annually in Buñol, Spain. As you can plainly see from the video below, you won't want to bust out your Sunday best for this festival. No, this is the kind of fun better left to your shoddy work clothes.
If you want to enjoy the fun that comes with tossing hundreds of tomatoes at your fellow stranger, well, you will have to go get a few buckets from your local store, because you, sadly, already missed this year's iteration. The festival goes down on the last Wednesday of August every year.
Maybe next year?

La Tomatina Tours has more information: "Prior to 2013 anywhere from 40,000 to 50,000 (reported to be 50,000 in 2012) people crammed into this huge tomato fight, greatly expanding Buñol's normal 9,000 person population. Since 2013 official ticketing has been in place limiting the number of participants to just 20,000 lucky people."
Granted, the thought of walking a town doused in food seems like a horrible idea. In fact, if that happens to you that means something went horribly wrong.
Unless you are one of thousands of people with tomato all over them. Then, that is a much different story. In fact, it's a hilarious and wonderful one.
