After The Ohio State University's decisive win over Oregon by a margin of 42-20, which capped a Cinderella season marked by improbable victories over higher-ranked opponents and a string of high-profile injuries, what is Brutus Buckeye going to do next?
Easy answer. He's going to Disney World.
Shortly after the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship game, Walt Disney World aired the commercial seen below congratulating OSU on their victory by sending their mascot Brutus Buckeye on a trip to Walt Disney World Resort.
The spot is part of a tradition that started back in 1987, when New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms, fresh off his victory in Super Bowl XXI, declared that after winning the Super Bowl, "I'm going to go to Disney World!"
The notion that no major sports championship is complete without a victory lap around the Magic Kingdom has continued on since, (although some athletes, like Hines Ward after the Pittsburgh Steelers' win in Super Bowl XL, opted for Disneyland).
And now, with the confetti cleaned up and the first-ever CFP championship trophy headed to Columbus, it's time for Brutus to take a well-earned vacation.
