As today’s travelers look for luxury vacations, they can turn to Wales – two prestigious tour companies, Cox & Kings and Travcoa, are offering luxury journeys to this off-the-beaten-path destination.
According to Bain & Company’s 2014 Annual Global Luxury Study, the market for luxury travel has more than tripled in less than 20 years. The study suggests that international travelers are increasingly developing an appetite for “360-degree luxury experiences.” These include high-end transportation, luxury hotels, wines and spirits. Both Cox & Kings’ London and Wales: The Iconic and Undiscovered and Travcoa's Iconic England and Wales vacation packages offer exactly what today’s luxury travelers expect. The customizable independent tours provide the ultimate upscale experiences combined with must-see historic sites and award-winning attractions throughout the Welsh countryside.
“In the past few years, Wales has added new hotels, restaurants and attractions designed for luxury travelers, and the offerings continue to grow,” said Lauren Summers, director of marketing for Visit Wales, North America. “We are so pleased with the dynamic programs that these two world-renowned tour operators, Cox & Kings and Travcoa, have designed to help their clients discover our enchanting destination.”
Each trip offers a distinctive experience for travelers. Below are tour highlights:
Cox & Kings, London & Wales: The Iconic and Undiscovered: Travelers will begin their journey in Cardiff, the capital of Wales. They’ll tour Cardiff Castle, the historic fortress located in the city center. Then, their private-driver will take them to Rhossili Bay on the Gower Peninsula – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and voted the UK’s number one beach by Trip Advisor users. Their visit to Wales will end with a stay at Llangoed Hall, a country-house hotel awarded the best restaurant in Britain and Ireland at the 2014 Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence, before traveling to London.
TRAVCOA, Iconic England and Wales: On this vacation, travelers will drive with their private guide from England to the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Wales. Here, they can make a pilgrimage to Tintern Abbey which has long been a place of inspiration for artists and poets, most notably, William Wordsworth. Their Wales adventure will end in the North of the country, where travelers can hop aboard a historic steam train, visit the Italianate-style village of Portmeirion, and marvel at views of Snowdonia National Park from one of the country’s most renowned gardens, Bodnant Garden.
