Heading to Ibiza and Mallorca, Spain, this summer? A new tourism tax may be upping the price of your holiday. The new tax goes into effect on July 1 and requires approximately a $2 per day fee on travelers to the Balearic Islands for those over age 14. 

Hawaii may be a popular vacation destination for millions of visitors each year, but the islands aren’t stopping there. State lawmakers believe that even more people would head to Hawaii if there were more sporting events held in the state. 

Malta sees a boost in tourism numbers from Russia, Swedish, Swiss and U.S. visitors who spend more than $1,000 per visit. There was also a large increase in the number of visitors staying in private accommodation. 

The U.S. updated its travel warning in Turkey, reiterating that there are still credible threats within the country’s popular tourist destinations. The warning advised Americans to be vigilant in crowded public places.
