What is The World’s Most-Searched Destination?

Croatia is known for its stunning medieval city of Dubrovnik, its beautiful Dalmatian Coast, its islands dotting the Adriatic, its national parks and now, it’s known for one more thing: It’s the most searched-for country on the Internet. According to Lonely Planet, research shows that the country is the one people are looking for the most.
“The European country is the top holiday destination searched by people around the world, according to search engine data analyzed by the website teflSeach, which runs a service to help people look for work teaching English overseas,” writes Alex Butler.
While this honor is a stellar one for Croatia, it’s worthwhile to note that the country only received 2.71 percent of overall searches, according to Lonely Planet.
Other countries that hold this notable distinction are Greece (2.54 percent), Turkey (2.47 percent), Thailand (2.47 percent), Spain (1.99 percent) – which teflSearch notes are all known as affordable places with great beaches. The top 10 list is completed with Italy (1.90 percent), Cuba (1.85 percent), Portugal (1.66 percent), Malta (1.65 percent) and United States (1.65 percent).
These results reflected worldwide searches and, if you are curious, the U.S.’s most searched-for country was not Croatia, but was the U.K., followed by Mexico and Cuba.
