Ireland is searching for the best foodie destination in the country and 10 places have now made the shortlist.
According to the Irish Times, “the Foodie Destinations initiative was originally part of the Irish Restaurant Awards but has proved to be so popular it became its own entity in 2015. The Burren won it last year and is going for the two in a row.”
If you are traveling Ireland in search of tasty dishes, here are the areas that have been selected:
Boyne Valley, Cong in County Mayo, Derry, the Dublin coastal villages of Howth, Malahide and Skerries, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Monaghan, Sligo, The Burren and The Loop Head Peninsula in County Clare.

The honor of “best” is “given to a destination where there are a cluster of high-quality places to eat. These include not just restaurants, but food festivals and farmers’ markets,” says the Irish Times.
The winning destination will be announced on Sept. 29. For more information about the selection process, read more here.
