Those in Thailand can now kick their feet up like a true Hobbit. Though we would warn against answering the door for any wizards or dwarves, because doing so may lengthen your vacation by a few years.
Kevin Melrose, writing for Comic Book Resources, spotted quite the fancy holiday digs lurking on the Internet.
Melrose writes on the aptly named Hobbit House: "Just two hours from Bangkok, the rental cottage is entirely above ground, but otherwise bears a fairly decent likeness to Bag End, right down to the round green door and earthen roof. Luckily, however, this version has air conditioning and wireless Internet."
Melrose posts images of the abode that we do admit looks a great deal like the one featured in Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies:
Melrose even offers that the price to rent this beauty is just $67 per night, or $1,345 if you can't tear yourself away from the Hobbit-themed place for at least a month.
You can get more information at the site's Airbnb posting, which offers a bit more detail on the surrounding area: "2 hours from Bangkok, 30 minutes from Khao Yai National Park, located next to Mountain Creek Golf Course in small local village. There are forest temple near by and here you can see 4000 years rock painting."
As long as there are no looming orcs we think any nearby attraction is fine by us.
Now this is hardly the first of its kind, because YouTube highlights a wealth of Hobbit-themed cottages around the world. The following video, for example, features a home resting comfortably in Pennsylvania:
As for the Thailand rental, it seems to have all the necessary amenities you would want when spending a few days on holiday.
Of course it comes with the added bonus of being able to say you lived like a Hobbit for a few days. Just remember this also mandates drinking often and having 12 to 13 square meals a day.
