'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Promises Captivating Tour of the World

Saving the world mandates a fairly packed itinerary.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” opens domestically this weekend, which means the lot of you will throw on the comic book themed t-shirt, ready the opinionated rants and head out to the local theater.

For the fictional superheroes and the very real actors who play them, the journey was far more exhausting.

As we will soon see, making a movie that features locations around the world called for the cast and crew to travel, well, around the world.

IMDB points to a long list of locales for what promises to be a raucous movie which will once again feature Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans) and company pooling resources to stave off a common foe. In this case, massive destruction of various neighborhoods will be necessitated.

Production took the crew to all parts of the globe, including South Korea, Bangladesh, South Africa, England and Italy.

So, in a very odd way, seeing one of the most hotly anticipated films of the season is like taking a brief and exotic trip.

Granted, the trip will include a nefarious villain that makes use of a breakthrough in artificial intelligence. You know, your classic tale.

Marvel released the following video that highlights just how immense the task was to capture so many parts of this vibrant and eclectic world:

Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner) promises, “As much as it could be it’s a much bigger film than the first ‘Avengers.’”

And we get a glimpse of that with this featurette that holds a spotlight on places like Dover Castle, Johannesburg and a presumably rainy Italy.

Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor, points to a film that might be the biggest global endeavor of the franchise: “We’ve gone to far more locations than we have ever before and kind of covered more ground.”

Fortunately for those involved, the itinerary had a few more stops as the movie inched its way to opening.

The following video is just a taste of the global tour the popular cast enjoyed:

With one more go for “Ultron,” the cast left from the premiere to spelunk around the world to fans that absolutely can’t get enough of the Marvel universe.

A crowd roars in South Korea; the man who plays Tony Stark poses with a posh Audi in London and cosplay is alive and well in Beijing.

Through it all you get the very real sense the cast enjoyed every last moment of what had to be an exhausting tour.

So if you are looking to book similar travels, perhaps craft a comic-book vehicle that banks millions the moment it opens.
