Count on continuous chucklers bursting into downright guffaws as top comedians hit the stage during the 2016 edition of the Cabo Comedy Festival. With its “Leave them Laughing” mantra, the annual gathering "Where The Land Ends And The Laughs Begin" will roll out at the Baja destination from Sept. 21-25.
The series of events delivers everything from smiles to guttural laughs when an international roster of comics takes the stage to lead the audience to take a well-deserved break from day-to-day routines that most often skew toward serious.
In a casual atmosphere where fans can interact with the stars, the five-day comedy fest features performances by some of the entertainment industry's best stand-up comics, plus a “Breakthrough Talent” competition that showcases opening act-level performers. As a well-deserved prize that’s guaranteed to keep competitors on their “A Game,” the funniest comedian will receive a development deal with a major comedy producer and star.
The list of comediennes is pending. Attendees can count on the likes of such 2015 Cabo Comedy Festival headliners as Chelsea Lately’s Ben Gleib, Nick Rutherford with the sketch comedy group Good Neighbor, former Second City Troupe member Hal Sparks and Las Vegas’ Backyard Comedy Show founder Brandt Tobler.

Shows performed in both Spanish and English are themed into categories that include headliners, rising stars, musical variety acts and events. Producers, writers and cast members featured on several of TV’s top comedy shows also collaborate via panel discussions that dive into comedy’s business sides.
Among the topics will be “How To Get On Television,” “Podcasting The Funny,” “Live Streaming In Your Hands” and “The Color Of Comedy.”
This year’s festival will dial into the festive mode via celebrations at Los Cabos’ top eateries and red-hot nightclubs. Among the typical trending bar list is Hard Rock Café, La Divina Bar, Baja Brewing Company, Baja Junkie, Knotty, Desperados and Cultural Pavilion.
Other festival highlights include the “Giant of Comedy” award that nods to the genre’s most accomplished stars. Among the past recipients are Improv founder Budd Friedman, and famous female comedians Elayne Boosler and Roseanne Barr.
