The New Year will bring a heaping dose of Arnold Schwarzenegger and goodwill, and Carnival Corporation & PLC will help bring both to the masses.

The corporation recently unveiled its plans to not only sponsor the season finale of the upcoming “The New Celebrity Apprentice” but also launch its own Celebrity Apprentice Charity Challenge.

Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corporation, explained the impetus and promise of the initiative, via press release: “We expect 'The New Celebrity Apprentice' will be a big hit with viewers, and being able to reach millions of people watching the program is a powerful way for us to generate awareness of cruising and help inspire people to consider cruising when they are planning their vacations. We are also looking forward to generating awareness of and support for several well-deserving charitable groups by offering cruise giveaways that will create a lot of excitement.”

The campaign serves two purposes. For one, it offers a spotlight on the wonderful world of cruising and various brands under the Carnival umbrella.

As noted, Carnival’s presence will be felt throughout the show’s season, which welcomes Schwarzenegger as host, but will end with a cameo from its North American brands, including Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and Seabourn – all of which will show up in the shows two-part season finale in some form.

Of course, Carnival Corporation remains coy on exactly what we can expect in the form of cruise ships and experiences shared on the show.

However, it does promise that more details will hit fans at about the middle of December.

The other, and perhaps more important, component of the campaign is its support of the Celebrity Apprentice Charity Challenge.

Not only will Carnival Corporation afford viewers the opportunity at weekly giveaways, the initiative will highlight the many important charities supported by celebrities featured on the show.

And speaking of celebrities, the upcoming season, revamped with a new host, is chockablock filled with notable names and business experts.

Business gurus on the show include the likes of Warren Buffett, Steve Ballmer, Tyra Banks and Jessica Alba.

And that’s before we meet the season’s list of headlining contestants that feature athletes, reality-TV stars and more: Laila Ali; Brooke Burke-Charvet; Eric Dickerson; Boy George; Matt Iseman; Carrie Keagan; Carson Kressley; Lisa Leslie; Jon Lovitz; Vince Neil; and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi; Kyle Richards; Chael Sonnen; Porsha Williams; Ricky Williams; and Carnie Wilson.

One winner will get a $250,000 payday for their respective charity. And all the while Carnival will be helping the cause to bang the drum of goodwill and the amazing experiences that await those who are yet to join the cruising community.

The season begins on January 2 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC with the season finale coming on both Feb. 6 and 13.
