Celebrate 'Orange Is The New Black's' New Season With Singapore Pop-Up Diner

We don’t care if it’s Red or Gloria doing the cooking, eating at the Litchfield Penitentiary cafeteria seems like a horrible idea.
Now an “Orange is the New Black” pop-up diner in Singapore? We can get behind that.
Next week a lucky few will get the opportunity to binge eat before they binge watch at a Singapore location that is being turned into something that will resemble the hit show’s cafeteria.
And it comes just in time for the premiere of the fourth season, which hits Netflix accounts on Friday, June 17.
Interested parties can head over to the Chope site, which offers details on the pop-up experience taking place on June 16-17 on Orchard Road in Singapore.
As the posting states, the meal is complimentary – although the beverage list is a bit thin. The site advises; “Come meet your fellow inmates, wait in line and stay hydrated with a tall plastic cup of our refreshing house beverage: water. The lunch-mates you'll make here can make or break your stay, so choose your seat wisely. Oh, and don't eat the pudding.”
Here is a link to take a peek at the menu, which sounds awful but undoubtedly tastes amazing.
It consists of corn, nutraloaf and gruel – although it’s far more appetizing to read the descriptions.
The gruel, for example, is white chocolate and coconut rice pudding festooned with an almond crumble and the mysterious-sounding fruit of the day.
As for nutraloaf, it’s more than likely a finer version than the one presented on the show.
Chef Bjorn Shen spoke with Mashable and explained this particular dish: “Since this is not real prison, I've made this dish look and feel like a Nutraloaf, but taste much better. Mine's made of mushrooms, cheddar, quinoa, pumpkin and nori.”
In any case, you get to go home right after enjoying this prison experience. And there’s no need to worry about any of the guards giving you a shot for mouthing off.
The rest of us will have to manage with pizza for what will be a weekend of binge watching.
