Warner Bros. is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Friends by offering a pop-up of Central Perk, Gunther included.
Entertainment Weekly's Marc Snetiker (h/t Eater New York) reports on quite the friendly turn of events for a Manhattan neighborhood.
According to the report, "Warner Bros. Television Group, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, and Eight O'Clock Coffee are partnering to re-create the Central Perk coffeehouse at a pop-up location in downtown Manhattan this September."
That means lucky locals and fortunate travelers can stop by, sit back and drink coffee as if it were 11:30 in the morning on a Wednesday:
The report promises that visitors can take pictures on the iconic couch (brace yourself for a flood of selfies), listen to classics like Smelly Cat (fingers crossed on Sticky Shoes) and meet the actor who played Gunther- James Michael Tyler will reportedly make special appearances.
There will also be trivia, giveaways and merchandise made available. Now for the specifics, the pop-up will be held at 199 Lafayette Street, New York from Sept. 17 to Oct. 18, giving fans a month to practice their Dutch.
Now this is just one way fans are getting in on the growing fervor for all things Friends anniversary, because Jimmy Kimmel got in on the act by throwing an epic reunion of sorts:
For the rest of us Friends fans, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the best show featuring a group of friends who barely worked and drank copious amounts of coffee will come in the form of re-runs and DVR recordings.
We shall live vicariously through you few who visit Central Perk, just don't expect service if a guy named Joey is working there.
