If you can free yourself from the beach or break away from the barbecue for a moment, there is plenty to watch on Netflix in June.

Here we take a look at the month’s new offerings from the popular streaming service, highlighting just those titles that aim to entertain the traveler within us all.

And, as you will soon see, the month is replete with selections that will have you itching to once again break away from the TV and explore all that the world has to offer.

Of course, we recommend doing so once the popcorn has depleted and the refreshments have been thoroughly imbibed.

For a full list, visit CNN’s breakdown of all that is new to Netflix in the month of June. Happy streaming.

“The Aviator” (2004):

This movie is indeed about aviation history, TWA, and the famed flight of the Spruce Goose. But it’s really about one enigmatic man determined to conquer the sky.

One of Martin Scorsese’s more underappreciated works, Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett shine in a movie that is as gorgeous as it is enthralling.

“Hector and the Search for Happiness” (2014):

While largely panned by critics, you will hardly find a more diverse movie as far as shooting locations.

Simon Pegg’s Hector travels the world in search of happiness, which is a sentiment we thoroughly endorse.

“On the Road” (2012):

This is no family friendly jaunt across the country in the minivan, rather one man’s tale of self discovery based on Jack Kerouac’s classic novel.

As IMDB notes, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Mexico, Argentina, as well as other locations serve as a backdrop to a riveting story.

“Antarctica: A Year on Ice” (2014):

Some destinations are best appreciated from afar, such as the unforgiving tundra that is Antarctica.

Sweeping visuals are just a small part of this documentary that is a must-see for anyone with even a passing interest in the continent.
