Marriage can be described as a roller coaster of emotions, but one couple took that literally as they tied the knot Monday on an actual roller coaster.
According to The News Tribune, 27-year-olds Kevin Slaughter and his fiancée Taylor Weaver boarded a wooden roller coaster at the Washington State Fair Monday, and when they came to a stop at the station, they were officially married.
The couple won a contest held by radio station STAR 101.5 FM to get married on a roller coaster, and radio host Kent Philips—who is also an ordained minister—proceeded over the ceremony as the bride, groom, family and friends made their way around on the ride.
Slaughter and Weaver shared their “I dos” at the highest point of the roller coaster and had their first kiss as a married couple on the way down as the cars full of friends and family screamed in a weird mix of joy and terror.
The whole ceremony was broadcast live Monday on the Kent and Alan Morning Show.
Slaughter and Weaver originally met at Wal-Mart and got engaged around two years ago on a Ferris wheel. Joining the happy couple during their wedding ceremony and the after party was their four-month-old daughter, Willow.
The couple will now take their honeymoon in Las Vegas.
