Disney Opening Several New and Updated Attractions and Events
Disney has several new attractions and events scheduled to open this weekend, including the Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire stage show at the Magic Kingdom, a new version of Epcot's popular Soarin' ride and a fireworks show dubbed Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.

Universal Studios Hollywood to Make Announcement on June 21
Officials from Universal Studios Hollywood said that the park will make a major announcement next Tuesday, June 21, at 7:30 a.m. PT on its YouTube channel. There is no word on what the announcement will entail.

Rivalry Heating Up With Opening of Shanghai Disney Resort
While many theme park enthusiasts are celebrating the grand opening of the Shanghai Disney Resort, the facility is creating a heated rivalry with other amusement park companies in China, including the Dalian Wanda Group.

Legoland Theme Park Being Considered for New York Area
Developers have revealed plans for a Legoland theme park in the New York tri-state area — more specifically Orange County — but there are some local organizations fighting against the new theme park project.


The New York Daily News has released an inside look into the hottest new attractions for 2016 at the top New York City area amusement parks, including The Joker roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure.

Thursday marked the 132nd anniversary of the first roller coaster in America opening to the public. Called the Switchback Railway at Coney Island in Brooklyn, the ride went five miles per hour and cost a nickel to ride in 1884.

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has teamed with Greyhound to offer people a getaway for four with the "Live Unleashed Sweepstakes." The prize pack includes four tickets to a Six Flags theme park of the winner's choice including a VIP tour, free roundtrip tickets to get there via Greyhound, a two-night hotel stay, food, beverage and more.

Officials from the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia announced that the new facility will open on April 19, 2017, the anniversary of the opening battles of the American Revolutionary War.

A development team has proposed a unique way to pay for renovations at New York’s Penn Station; building a 1,200-foot thrill ride on top of the station and charging $35 a ticket to make up the difference for construction.
