People with pets of adorable size, please check your luggage prior to leaving for the airport.
PIX-11's Jeremy Tanner reports a Chihuahua attempted to garner passage on one of those human conveyances called an airplane Tuesday.
The remarkable thing, outside of a canine taking its leisure time into its own paws, is that the owner had no clue the dog had snuck into some luggage.
Tanner writes, "The woman apparently didn't hear any noise from the puppy, and checked the bag before heading for security."
The reporter continues with the chance discovery: "However, when a black, hard-sided suitcase set off an alarm, triggering an inspection, a TSA officer was shocked to find the young brown-and-beige Chihuahua staring back at him."
The dog, unable to voice its thoughts, was presumably shaken at being foiled for what would have been a wonderful adventure.
TSA's Lisa Farbstein fills us in on what happened next: "The woman said that the dog must have climbed into the suitcase and curled up in the clothing while she was packing for her trip."
Now please don't think the passenger was in on the stowaway mishap. Farbstein continued, "(She) was shocked when we told her we had her dog."
The rest of the report leaves us to speculate and imagine, because the only other details is that the owner's husband was called to get the dog.
At which point we imagine said husband put his beer in the fridge, put on his adult pants and begrudgingly went off to the airport, delaying what was to be a wonderful week of binge watching "his" shows.
