It features what has to be the world's greatest collection of Don Juans-and one Don Juana-in a nostalgically grainy video.
The video was originally posted to YouTube on Feb. 10 by Downtown Halifax, which states, "Finding the right date is hard. The rest we've made easy."
Now before you watch please practice caution, because you may just find yourself wooed out of your seat:
It's like Downtown Halifax has a firm monopoly on the suave and unbelievably romantic-the kind of people that "make love in the sewers of New York City."
Now the video, while valuable for its hilarity alone, does serve a purpose. And if you head to the Date Night section of DowntownHalifax.ca you will find that purpose.
It's all to market romantic endeavors in Nova Scotia with packages made available throughout February. Again, apologies for just now spotting this brilliance.
The website states, "Each Downtown Halifax Date Night package includes a complimentary $25 Downtown Halifax pre-paid Visa gift card to spend anywhere that takes Visa in Downtown Halifax."
For example, the first package includes trips to the "Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Gio's Halifax restaurant, and Rousseau Chocolatier," and it will run you $116.
However, we wouldn't have known such a deal existed had it not been for the viral video blast from the past provided by this ad.
The most vital information gleaned from this gem is that you should refrain at all costs from nibbling on Big D's ear, which sounds like solid life advice.
