Julia Roberts starred in the critically acclaimed film Eat Pray Love in 2010 that was based off of the best-selling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert. The film and novel follows the author’s adventures around the world following a divorce from an unhappy marriage.
During the motion picture, Roberts eats at the “L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele” in Naples and to say she liked the pizza that was served to her was an understatement.
“I love my pizza so much,” author Elizabeth Gilbert wrote on her visit to the restaurant, where she ordered a margherita with double mozzarella, “that I have come to believe in my delirium that my pizza might actually love me, in return. I am having a relationship with this pizza, almost an affair.”
You now don’t have to travel to Italy to experience this romantic pizza. You’ll still have to travel, but a restaurant will now open a spot in London according to The Guardian. The London branch will be located at 125 Church Street in Stoke Newington.
The Naples location has been at its adoptive spot since 1930 and comes from over a century of a pizza making family.
You don’t have to stress about the restaurant doing anything drastic with the recipes. The Guardian’s Will Coldwell writes that the new location in London will “follow the same formula that has won it acclaim in Naples.” The said formula includes serving just margherita and marinara pizzas. In addition, the new location will have two specials on rotation. You can wash it down with the same wine and beers that you may have fallen in love with at the Italy restaurant.
