Halloween is a time for spooks, ghosts and goblins to come out of the woodwork. Now, America’s haunted attractions have spilled over and are looking for blood year-round.
They’ve already invaded Valentine’s Day and Christmas, but haunts are diving into your fear of leprechauns this St. Patrick’s Day, scaring up a holiday weekend that is usually reserved for green beer and pinching.
Here are some of the massive haunted attractions that will be open this weekend to test your luck and scare the Shillelaghs out of you.
Basement of the Dead: Aurora, IL
Are you ready to arm yourself in a laser fight to the finish?
This year, Basement of the Dead will call on the power of gold to bring back leprechauns. They aren’t the cute little cuddly guys you see on the cereal box; these leprechauns have a taste for you and will stop at nothing to get your lucky charms.
You’re armed with a laser tag gun as you fend your way through a winding maze. Are you lucky enough?
Midnight Terror: Oak Lawn, IL
Chicago is about to get its very first interactive haunted house, just in time for St. Paddy’s day.
St. Patrick’s Fear will not only pit you against some angry leprechauns who are out for blood in order to protect their gold, but it will make you solve puzzles and even set traps to capture the lucky little devils.
If you’re lucky enough, you may even get their gold.

Branson Haunted Hills: Reeds Spring, MO
Moving the fun from the haunted house to the open fields, Branson Haunted Hills will give you a chance to survive by with a magic wand to chase off the leprechauns.
Of course, being outside in early March in Missouri might cause some problems. The event may cancel if the weather is too wet, snowy or cold. With a blizzard coming through most of the country, you might want to check before you go, just in case.
Factory of Terror: Canton, OH
The famous Factory of Terror will set loose leprechauns on you. (Starting to see a theme here?)
Only, Factory of Terror does it bigger than any other St. Paddy’s Day event in Ohio. The terror is real, and the leprechauns don’t want gold, they want your souls!

Dark Hour: Plano, TX
Dark Hour goes beyond the tradition of leprechauns and dives deeper into the realm of Irish folklore.
You’ll be facing witches, giants, fairies and of course, more leprechauns. Dark Hour drops the veil between our world by unleashing the Dark Hour Coven against the world.
Castle Blood: Monessen, PA
St. Patrick's Day will see a celebration of all things Celtic as Castle Blood calls out the Banshees and all the ghosts of Ireland. The haunt is celebrating 25 years of fear in Pennsylvania and will be doing a few more things to celebrate through the year.
