Heroic New Yorker Aims to Conquer Every Dollar Pizza Slice in the City

Francisco Balagtas is on a mission to eat every last pizza in the New York area—or at least the ones that cost a buck a slice.

The Huffington Post reports on the tremendous work that is being done in the Manhattan area. Work, by the way, we so hope to emulate at some point in our lives.

Now the work is yet to be finished, but Elite Daily caught up with the pizza eater to get his thoughts on an endeavor that mandates pictures, grades and a lot of cheese.

Here is a video that shows just how massive an undertaking this will be:

Now perhaps you can’t get out to New York for a slice. And perhaps you have no qualms about being hit with a sudden uncontrollable urge to eat a massive pie.

Well you might want to venture over to Balagtas’ Instagram feed, Dollar Pizza Slice NYC, which serves as something of a shrine to the dollar slice:

Balagtas has been diligently eating pizza slices like a good ninja turtle since August. And it’s a good thing, because he has quite the haul to cover.

According to Elite Daily, there are “more than 200 (pizza places) scattered throughout the five boroughs.”

The publication continues with what sets his reviews apart from the rest of food pictures flooding the Internet: “Striving to maintain a controlled environment, he takes every picture at the same angle with no filters. He then breaks down the bread, sauce and cheese into three separate ratings, from one to five.”

So far the highest is Vinny Vincenz Pizza, which rates a four in cheese and sauce and a five in crust.

Now New York is an expensive place to visit, but Balagtas might offer that you can find some tremendously satisfying fare lurking around for about a dollar. In fact, there are so many of these places that the young man is still eating.
