Hoppa Celebrates 'Back to the Future' Day With DeLorean Airport Transfers

It’s 2015. Flux capacitors aren’t around to take you back in time, hoverboards are a tenuous enterprise and flying cars are best left in fiction. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate, because Hoppa is bringing the DeLorean to your airport transfer experience.

For those of you who take great pride in remembering fictional watershed moments, October 21, 2015 is the date Marty McFly and Doc Brown went ahead in time from 1985, as seen in the movie “Back to the Future II.”

Now one airport transfer service is offering a way to celebrate that fact, by allowing travelers the opportunity to select service by DeLorean next Wednesday.

For those who don’t quite remember what we are talking about, we shall give you a quick blast from the best time-traveling franchise:

Now we don’t exactly have flying cars or shoes that lace up automatically.

If you get your jacket wet, you will have to air dry like the old days. However, we have plenty to keep us fat and giggly until hoverboards finally show up in store windows.

We have a stylish way to get to and from the airport.

Here is the description found on Hoppa’s list of available vehicles: “If you're looking for a speedy transfer check out our new vehicle type, the DeLorean DMC-12. Travelling at speeds of 88 miles per hour and generating 1.21 gigawatts of energy with the help of Plutonium, the DeLorean will ensure you arrive quickly to your chosen destination past, present or future. Just remember where you're going, you don't need roads! This vehicle type can hold up to 2 people and a dog (optional). Let your driver power up the Flux Capacitor and you'll arrive happy.”

Now there must have been a mad dash for the service, because the website warns: “Unfortunately, due to a shortage of plutonium the DeLorean is currently unavailable!”

There is no word if or when more cars will be provided for next week’s geeky celebration.

If you are fortunate enough to snag a ride, please let us know what the future is like and whether the Cubs really do win the World Series.
