Hulu made available every last “Seinfeld” episode online, yadda, yadda, yadda, they also opened a brilliant pop-up of the iconic apartment belonging to the fictional version of Jerry Seinfeld.
It’s a figurative label maker, repackaged and re-gifted to the masses of adoring fans. And what goes better with tremendous news than an actual shrine to this massive part of Americana.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Hilary Lewis walked through the apartment recently and reported on the treasure trove of nostalgia.
As Lewis writes, the pop-up homage is more akin to a temporary museum housing artifacts from the show.
Lewis states, “The Milk Studios space, is open to the public for five days, starting Wednesday, the same day Seinfeld starts streaming on Hulu. It features a re-creation of Jerry's 5A one-bedroom apartment and an exhibit of Seinfeld's famous props and set pieces. The gallery space also includes Seinfeld scripts and some of the real Seinfeld's keepsakes from filming the show.”
Lewis also delivers the necessary info for those in New York who might have a hankering for what looks to be an awesome trip through comedic history.
The report states the apartment will be open from June 24-28, so you should sprint there as if the Soup Nazi were clearing out inventory.
Thankfully the installation is open through the evening, opening at 10 in the morning at closing at 7 p.m.
Just head to Milk Studios at 451 W 14th Street and prepare to be amazed.
From the sound of it, there is a tremendous amount of Seinfeld tidbits to keep us all fat and giggly.
There’s the booth where the group hatched many a scheme and a faux wall that is adorned with signatures from stars who once traipsed onto the show.
If you do happen to stop by, let us know if Jerry has anything good in the fridge. For the rest of us, we will fire up the DVR, put on a DVD or head over to Hulu to enjoy what is a summer of George we can all enjoy.
