Thanks to its lush beauty and picturesque landscapes Iceland is one of the hardest working actors in the business at the moment. brings us a stunning infographic that illustrates just how prolific this country has been in the entertainment business lately.

From Game of Thrones to the upcoming Star Wars movie, the brilliant locale is making more than just a few cameos.

Take a peek at this graphic from Icelandair and consider crossing off a heap of movie locations from your next holiday itinerary.

It’s like being a part of the Night’s Watch, minus the annoying White Walker mayhem and obvious brutality:

Iceland, it would seem, is the place to shoot if you are hoping to captivate audiences with a modern sci-fi action adventure movie.

Prometheus and Interstellar both boast some screen time from the versatile countryside. The latter’s director, Christopher Nolan, had this to say: “Interstellar was my second time filming in Iceland and it was an otherworldly experience. Iceland truly represents the beautiful extremes that nature has to offer.”

When you consider the wide swath of productions that have utilized what Iceland has to offer, you begin to realize that “otherworldly” is far from a throwaway term.

We all wish we could hop on some spaceship and jettison off to an exotic planet and see what the universe has to offer outside of this planet.

Well, producers from some of the most renowned franchises have decided that it’s easier just to roll the cameras while in Iceland.

If you have a hankering to see some of the spots used in movies and television, Iceland is your budding entertainment destination.

Just make sure to refrain from angering anyone named The Mountain while you are over there.
